Description

Join Leah Osborne, M.Ed, Early Childhood Specialist, to learn how to create an environment that will enable you to reconnect with kids after possible COVID trauma. COVID changed many regular classroom and home routines, which is stressful for young children. In this session, Leah will lead you to re-imagine basic classroom structures and routines that are focused on creating the safe and predictable environments necessary for kids to heal. Establishing safe, predictable structures help children feel safe and connected with their teachers. This connection creates a willingness to comply with teacher/caregiver requests in a healthy way. The session will cover topics like visual schedules, high positive feedback ratios, and direct teaching of social skills and will conclude with some action planning time so you will know exactly how you can implement new strategies. Part 1 of this topic occurred in July, but attendance at both session is not required. The sessions work as stand-alone workshops. NOTE: This session is a HYBRID class. You can choose to take it on Zoom or in person at Bridges to Growth, 805 W. University Ave, Georgetown, TX. Select the appropriate ticket for the format you prefer. The class is for adult participants. Mask optional. Please follow the CDC's guidelines for COVID infection and exposure.
