You are invited to a retreat featuring the teaching and practice of a new prayer experience. The Welcoming Prayer is a companion practice to Centering Prayer. Centering prayer is usually done at the beginning and the end of our day whereas The Welcoming Prayer practice reminds us to open to God's presence at the time of any stressful situation throughout the day. Our presenter, Mr. Jim McElroy is a member of the Welcoming Prayer Faculty for Contemplative Outreach, Ltd.The retreat day will also include several communal Centering Prayer periods for all attendees regardless of experience level. Those who are new to Centering Prayer will be provided with a short introduction to the 4 steps during the first prayer period. Fellowship with others who are engaged in a contemplative prayer life is an essential component of any COCEMO retreat. There will be several refreshment breaks during the day as well as a catered lunch. These breaks provide time when you will be encouraged to renew old friendships and meet new companions on your spiritual journey.
