Since 1917, The University of Michigan Alumnae Council (UMAC) has been a vibrant, intergenerational group of women and men who attended The University of Michigan and are committed to the equitable inclusion of women in all facets of The University of Michigan community. We award scholarships, support co-op housing, raised the funds to build the Michigan League and provided start-up funds for the Center for the Education of Women (CEW) on campus and our work continues! Our guest speakers for the event are: Julia Verklan Maloney (The Michigan Daily's Deputy Editor, The Knot Worldwide Editorial Intern and BBA UM student ) will speak on her article "For Michigan Women Everywhere" and Sara Fitzgerald, author of Conquering Heroines: How Women Fought Sex Bias at Michigan and Paved the Way for Title IX. Parting gifts will be distributed - one per household.
