Forest Therapy, also knows as Forest Bathing or Shinrin Yuko, originated in Japan, is the practice of mindfulness in the woods at a slow pace.
Forest Therapy has been proven through research to lower stress and moderate blood pressure as indicated through amylase, a stress indicator found in the saliva. These stress-lowering effects can last up to a week after the session. Some session designed for youth ages 5-10 with fun activities and crafts.
The Novi Community Coalition and the MSU Extension Tollgate Farm have partnered to present Forest Therapy experiences to the public!
Please join us for these Forest Therapy sessions with a variety of themes that are open and free to the public!
Each participant will receive a bag with mindful strategies.
All classes are FREE!
