Looking for small to medium, house trained dog

Looking for a small to mid sized house trained dog who is relatively calm and friendly. Preferably middle aged or elderly. My previous dog was a Coton de Tulear who I got when he was around the age of 7. I do not have the patience to raise a puppy on my own (tried) but could greatly benefit from the companionship of a loyal dog who already knows how to go about their business! I have a fully fenced yard, toys, treats...etc...etc. Willing to make a trip to get the dog however would want to take to a vet to get checked out prior to taking back with me.
