Specifically, we seek a BENCH CARPENTER & INSTALLER who will balance shop fabrication with field installation. This person will be involved in every step in the lifecycle of building custom casework and millwork: Cutlisting, Material Selection, Fabrication, Finish, Assembly and Installation. This person will also procure materials on occasion -- but if you don't like to hand select hardwood lumber, then this probably isn't for you. Above all, this person will be resourceful, attentive, eager, open-minded, with first-rate attention-to-detail. We can teach you the rest. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DAY-TO-DAY TASKS: -Support Lead Bench Carpenter in machining cabinet components and millwork from raw materials (sheetgoods, lumber) -Assemble casework & install organizational hardware -Finish prep (sanding, priming) -Support installation of all casework & millwork in the field (residential) -Clean, organize & improve workshop, tools and machines -Transport raw/finished materials and assemblies to/from local trade partner facilities ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTANGIBLE REQUIREMENTS: -Cleanliness & organization -Reliable & resourceful -Positive outlook & attitude -Appreciate & strive for quality craftsmanship -Communicate effectively ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TANGIBLE REQUIREMENTS: -Experience in cabinetmaking, cabinet installation, woodworking, high-end finish carpentry and/or similar trades ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ BARE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: -Show up -Have thorough understanding of, and experience with, woodworking tools & machines -Read a tape measure -Have own transportation and valid driver’s license -Pass a standard background check -Must be able to pick up and move items up to and in excess of 75lbs ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ HOURS & COMPENSATION: Daytime, M-F with negotiable weekends Compensation commensurate with experience ($15-35/hr) Regular merit bonuses ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ HOW TO CONTACT: -Instagram DM @mvcustom -Website www.mvwoodworks.com -Must include photos of recently completed woodworking, cabinetmaking and/or installation projects
