Ruby the hound dog needs a home

This sweet hound dog is Ruby. Her human Mama had to go into a nursing home so she is staying with us while she looks for the perfect home. She would be a perfect companion for an older person. Ruby is 8 years old, very calm and easygoing, well mannered, loves car rides. She is potty trained and will go to the door and paw at it and whine when she needs to go out. She loves attention and will gently prod you with her paw or head to remind you that you stopped petting her. She has a typical hound dog bark, but doesn't bark often; she does bark if she feels ignored or left behind. She's fine with cats and livestock, ok with other dogs as long as they aren't super annoying (think teenage-husky type of annoying) or trying to take over "her" couch. I've never seen her around chickens. Make sure you have room under a bed for Ruby, it's her favorite sleeping spot. Ruby is a bit spoiled though, and expects to get her own way. She doesn't like to have to stay outside, and she can be destructive if she wants to get in or out of someplace and you don't let her have her way fast enough (digs under fences, breaks screen doors, etc). She will come when she's called, but eventually, and at her own pace. Even with her bad habits, Ruby is a sweetheart and would be a great friend for someone willing to keep her indoors and give her her way, and with nothing to do but dote on her! With 4 kids and 3 dogs, we just can't do it.
