If you are interested about winemaking, fermentation and get dirty by sampling grapes and juices, then a dream comes true. Cooper Mountain Vineyards, located in Beaverton, is gearing up for our Harvest season and searching for an Harvest Cellar Worker to join our hardworking production team. You will work from Mid September to Mid November. Position Overview: Perform quality control prior and during alcohol fermentation. Provide assistance to the winemaker team. Maintain and promote a professional attitude, appearance, and work area in accordance with Cooper Mountain's mission statement. This job consists by sampling and measuring Brix, temperature and pH on our lovely fermenters. You will be in direct contact with fermentations and will report numbers and fermentation progress to the winemaker. Don’t worry, we will train you. At the beginning, you will work day time to receive a complete training and as work load progress, you will switch slowly to night shift. Because we harvest 7 days/week and yeast do not take their weekends off, you will be asked to work 7 days/week for at least 3 weeks. Requirements • Stand for long periods & work in a fast-paced environment • Work in a flexible & continually changing environment. • Tolerate exposure to outside elements (heat, wet and/or damp conditions, cold) • Perform heavy physical work, lifting 50 lbs repeatedly, bending, climbing, pulling, or squatting for long periods. • Work long hours during crush and peak periods and accept working night • Understand verbal and written English and being interested in science • Ability to understand and comply with any and all safety requirements. • Strong work ethic and dependability. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Strong organizational skills and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. • Valid Driver License.
