In many cases, the politicians are not subject to the same laws that we have to follow. Pelosi can buy and sell stocks using her insider trading information... as do many other politicians. It would be hard to stop that. In Pelosi's case, it's her husband that actually doing the buying/selling. Pelosi claims that she doesn't own any of the stocks. Of course, as a California resident, she actually does... but that's a different issue. If we stopped the politician's family, then where does it end? Joe Biden made millions from Hunter's deals. We could stop Joe, and then Jill, and then the kids. But then they just have the deals go through a brother or uncle or cousin.
Yes, if Trump broke the law, then he should be held to the same standards that all of the other politicians. But we shouldn't hold him accountable for having a cocktail napkin that has been declassified (as he can do) while a Secretary of State has 30,000+ classified emails on an illegal server in her home. Hold people accountable, but be consistent.
