Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Perform field work and related manual labor in support of land surveying operations. • Uses basic knowledge of survey to perform field work. • Running level rod to obtain elevations, contours, location, elevation and dimension of land features. • Holding prism pole for horizontal positions to allow data collection by instrument person. • Assists survey crew in setting up equipment and preparing job site for survey. • Prepares truck daily with necessary equipment to perform survey work. • Removing obstacles / clearing brush and trees away from survey line. • Work as part of a crew under the direction of a crew chief. • Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements • High School and/or specialized training from a vocational or technical school. • Valid Florida driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history required. • Basic math skills. • Ability to travel (up to 50% of the time). • Required to travel overnight when needed. • Required to work 50+ hours during busy periods. • Ability to lift 50 pounds. • Ability to walk for long periods of time through all kinds of terrain, uneven ground and sometimes water. • Good verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to work for any employer in the United States.
