Dear Angry Worker,
Our hands are reaching out to invite you to an evening of working class power and poetry at Fort Sumner park on September 9th from 6:00-8:00 PM.
With support from our feature poet, Sass Linneken (from ROSC - Resources for Organizing and Social Change), members of the Southern Maine Workers Center will share community testimony of the ease and hardship, discomfort and solace, heartbreak, and humor we've encountered working to protect ourselves and each other throughout this pandemic. We also invite you to rest, to listen, and to connect your own power with workers dreaming of a story of change we know we can only tell together.
“For as we begin to recognize our deepest feelings, we begin to give up, out of necessity, being satisfied with suffering and self-negation, and with the numbness which so often seems like the only alternative in our society.” - Audre Lorde
In solidarity and community.
