Description
How does this work?
It's part house tour, part murder mystery.
Attendees will buy tickets prior to the event for a certain time slot. This allows us to control the numbers of people who will be touring the neighborhood. Each group will have no more than 14 people, and they will leave in a staggered fashion from Hope Lutheran church with a neighborhood guide(s).
Before each group leaves, an actor ("master of ceremonies") playing a cop from the 1920s will introduce the event, discuss general rules, and get everyone excited to play. Everyone will get a packet with info, too. Then, guides will begin the tour at the time slot launch time, taking the group from house to house.
At each house, there will be actors who will perform a short vignette (like a fight, a séance, or finding a dead body) and will also interact with the attendees. House hosts can be on hand to talk to attendees about their house (not "in character"). Attendees ask questions and get clues, then the guides will walk them to the next house.
At the end of the tour, attendees will have a chance to relax at Wholly Grounds with a cocktail and submit their guesses about the identity of the killer.
Later that evening, emails will go out to all attendees with the correct killer's identity revealed. A random prize drawing will be held for all people who guessed the correct killer. Prizes will be delivered or held for pickup at a local business.
Things to note:
21 and older only. We will be offering one complimentary cocktail with each ticket.
There will be a lot of walking. So put on those walking shoes!
These are old homes and there will be stairs.
This event is a fundraiser for Historic South Park neighborhood.
