Other

13000 Clarkdale Avenue,Norwalk CA 90650

31 August, 2022

Description

The number of overdose deaths is increasing worldwide, and in the United States, an opioid was involved in approximately 75% of the 91,799 drug overdose deaths in 2020 (CDC, 2022). One in seven high school students in the US reported abusing prescription opioids in their lifetime (OJJDP, 2020). L.A. CADA Youth and Family Services and Medication-Assisted Treatment programs are responding to the rise of overdose deaths by offering a Free In-person Overdose Awareness Training at Norwalk Arts & Sports Complex on August 31, 2022 in observance of International Overdose Awareness Day. We want to invite professionals, students, and families to take part in this opportunity to educate and empower the community to take action in recognizing and preventing an overdose. For the participants who attend will receive free snacks and drinks. Registration via QR code is located on flyer. Please contact Jason Strickler, Health Promotion Coordinator, at [email protected] or Monica Soto, Program Manager, at [email protected].
