NO REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND THIS EVENT! It’s time to travel the world again! After an extended break due to the Covid-19 virus, the library is thrilled to bring back our 8 Countries in 1 Day event. Travel the globe without leaving DeKalb. Gobble down smørrebrød in Denmark, build your own paper circuit constellations in Greece, play Congkak and Batu Seremban in Malaysia, learn how to make Mate in Uruguay, and much more. Other countries included will be Senegal, New Zealand, Laos, and the Czech Republic. Stop by the welcome table to get your “luggage” and passport before your adventure begins. Visit every country, get your passport stamped, and enter for a chance to win one of many prizes. Bring canned food items to get additional raffle tickets. The library welcomes back the Northern Illinois University’s Center for Southeast Asian Studies and Latino Resource Center as partners. We our grateful for the addition of NIU International Affairs as a third partner! Gather in the main lobby for big performances throughout the day! 12:00 p.m.: Isan Music of Laos with Chamni Sripraram 1:00 p.m.: Zowee E. Beach Story Time: Special Request 2:00 p.m.: You do Speak English, Don’t You?
