The Purple Pet Lady is looking to hire a dog walker! The Purple Pet Lady serves Oakland and is looking to expand to Alameda. Candidates must live in Oakland or Alameda and own a dependable car. I am looking for someone to do both training walks and regular walks, with one dog at a time in Oakland. Walks are a half hour or an hour. Availability between 9 am and 5pm Monday through Friday and an interest in doing occasional additional walks, visits and overnights for vacation clients both during the week and on weekends as needed. I would love to find someone with experience walking and/or training dogs. However, if you are a person who absolutely loves dogs, is patient, compassionate, able to follow directions carefully and consistently, and very aware of your surroundings at all times, it could work as well. I am ideally looking to hire someone to start as back-up for me, who will become comfortable with the dogs I have and what they need to walk and train safely and effectively, and within 3 months, I will give this person a regular schedule of a couple walks a day 3-5 days a week and vacation overnights and care as they become available. The goal would then be to grow your schedule to 5 plus walks a day, 5 days a week. (With my current clients, you would make an average of $180 a day doing between 4 and 7 walks per day, which is about $900 a week and $4000 a month.) It is important to me that the person I hire be honest, communicative and considerate, as well as be looking to make a long term commitment (a couple years or more) to working as a dog walker and growing with the company.
