Foam rolling is a form of self-myofascial release. Adhesions (knots) form in tendons, ligaments and muscles due to injury, repetitive motion, or chronic poor posture. This in turn causes imbalance in muscles, joint dysfunction, pain, tension and diminished neurological function. YUCK! No bueno.
