WEST PALM BEACH, FL — A 23-year-old West Palm Beach man faces fraud and grand theft charges, the Tampa Bay Times reported.
Malachi Love-Robinson, who spent time in prison as a teen for posing as a doctor, is accused of taking more than $10,000 from his employer. He reportedly had clients send money to him directly rather than to the shipping company where he worked.
At 18, he went by "Dr. Love" and illegally operated a medical practice, even donning a lab coat and stethoscope and renting office space, reports said. He told patients he had various degrees, including a Ph.D. and M.D.
Love-Robinson claimed he never posed as a doctor. Rather, he said, he was working as a naturopathic physician, reports said.
In 2018, he pleaded guilty to charges of fraud, grand theft and practicing medicine without a license, reports said. He spent 21 months in a maximum-security prison in Fort Myers.
