Fall Fête: Kansas City Designer brings together Midwest brands

Approaching the end of her first year in business, local Kansas City designer, KaLeena Thomas has accomplished her goal of simplifying women’s daily wardrobe while supporting women-owned enterprises by bringing together four Midwest businesses for a collaborative event, Fall Fête, at The Space by Dolce in the Shops of Prairie Village, 6930 Mission Road, on Thursday, September 8, from noon to 6:00 pm. In addition to fall fashion, Fall Fête will include a sparkling cider bar, a wine and chocolate tasting, and personalized styling sessions with the designers highlighting fall trends which have been incorporated into their collections. Designers include Thomas of J. Margaret Weaver, along with native Kansan and Tyler, TX-based designer, Libby Shoup of birdchirp, Mission Hills-based Jane Birch, and St-Louis-based designer Daphne Benzaquen of daph., to create a one-of-a-kind experiential day that goes beyond shopping. Social Shop KC, a local event planning and rental business, will collaborate with local floral designer, Maple Lane Designs in creating fall tablescapes and providing fall entertaining inspiration.
