Desert Nurture is a locally owned small business. We are completely eco-friendly and sustainable. We are looking for someone who is strong, capable, and skilled at landscaping. Proper knowledge of trees, plants, shrubs and how to trim/plant correctly, etc are important. We need someone who is in good health and has stamina. Professional landscape knowledge is something we are really looking for as we pride ourselves on doing quality work, and detailed gardening. We really care about the plants, land, and Earth. We also take special care of all critters and insects we come across on the job. We cause no harm to any living thing. Our clients are all interested in eco-friendly methods, and we are quite particular about who we work for. A lot of the aspects are also teaching clients about their plants and the desert. Majority of our practices are by hand; such as weed removal. We DO NOT use any chemicals, herbicides or pesticides, all practices are safe and non-toxic and intended to build a sustainable future. We are located in the Catalina Foothills and the majority of our work is up here in NE Tucson. Having a working vehicle is necessary, since there is no bus that comes to these areas. Check out our website www.desertnurture.com Job Description: Trimming all plants, trees & bushes Planting and install of rocks, trees, shrubs, etc. Removal of plants, weeds, stumps, rocks. (we do not remove large live trees) Raking, sweeping, blowing, weed whacking, pruning, shoveling, digging, mowing Irrigation repair and install Design placement and install Garden bed install, fruit & veggie gardens, compost, mulch Digging, Shoveling & raking Etc. Must Haves: - Must be 18 years or older - Must be eco-friendly, sustainably orientated, and caring towards plants and animals. - Must have work boots, gloves, hat and protective outdoor clothing/gear - Good people skills, friendly, open & reliable - Must be strong and healthy - Be able to lift and carry heavy items - at least 80-100 lbs (heavy rocks, plants, & branches) - Must be able to move and attach landscape trailer by hand to vehicle with and without debris in it. - Be able to work in all weather conditions. - Must have responsible experience and knowhow with chainsaw and other tools - Must have a reliable vehicle - Must be able to pass drug test - Must be able to pass background check - Must be able to pass a physical - No Smoking/Vaping Scheduling: Monday - Friday is the usual schedule, although hours do vary. Pay depends on your skills, experience, and quality of work. This is a physical job and being in good shape and taking care of yourself is a necessity. You will need a large water container, have protective clothing (i.e long pants, long sleeve over shirt, large hat, work boots, gloves etc.) We do have company shirts available. Please let us know if you have any professional landscape training, skills, and knowledge such as; arborist knowledge and training, master gardening training or certification, proper knowledge of when and how to trim plants; native & non native, watering schedules for each season, how to dig, plant, transplant and remove all trees, shrubs and plants, vast knowledge on native plants is a majority of this job, education on your half is needed.
