The Guide Right Open House will take place on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at the Giant Willow Grove Community Center, from 3pm-4:30pm. The Community Center can be found on the second floor, once you enter the Giant Food Market. For parents new to the Guide Right program the open house is an opportunity to meet, learn about the program, go over timelines and requirements, ask questions, and enroll your child in the program. We have a very exciting program planned and look forward to another succesful year. __________________________________________________________ The Guide Right Leadership Program was established in 1922 as a national service program of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. The Abington-Ambler Alumni Chapter's Guide Right Program began in 2004 and has succesfully helped to mentor many young men in their pursuits of college and career , It was established to implement a meaningful and practical approach to the problem of youth underachievement. The program focuses on personal development, academic achievement, college and career preparation, and community service. Guide Right encompasses many of the fraternities youth oriented programs such as mentoring, college preparatory programs, and tutoring. The flagship initiative of the Guide Right Service Program is the Kappa Leadership Development League (Kappa League). Kappa Akademy is a STEM-based, mentorship program for boys 8-13. The program was developed to stimulate an early interest in technology-based fields of study by exposing students to applied science, math, and engineering, while mentoring them in life skills. In the fall of 2019, the AAA Kappa Guide Right Program through the Krimson Foundation, began working directly with targeted Eastern Montgomery County PA area high schools and middle schools and their superintendents and principals to provide onsite mentoring within the schools to better serve the overall needs and challenges of minority students.
