Description

EXTREMELY URGENT, EXTREMELY URGENT BOTH IMOGENE AND DIAMOND WILL DIE 8/24, 6 PM UNLESS AN ADOPTER OR FOSTER STEPS UP TO SAVE THEM! WE ARE ASKING ALL OF YOU TO HELP THEM LIVE BY SHARING THIS POST! LET’S NOT FAIL THESE DOGS!! THEY DESERVE TO LIVE Please read about them below. If you can save 1 of their lives, call ), fill out form below, OR go directly to the West Shelter (2500 S. 27th Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85009, Hours Mon-Friday 12-6pm and Sat-Sunday 12-5pm). IMOGENE (ID #A4751320) is a 5-year-old, spayed, gray and white American Pit Bull Terrier/Mix (84 lbs.). Imogene has been waiting for a home since 6/23/22. She now finds herself on the Euthanasia List because she can no longer tolerate long periods of confinement and is barking, leaping, and salivating heavily in her kennel. Imogene has been described as a “happy girl” that is gentle and affectionate and likes pets and belly rubs. She has been easy to take from and return to her kennel, settles into a nice pace when walked, and appears to be potty trained. Imogene has been calm around other dogs at the shelter and may be able to live with another dog but would need a SLOW introduction. It is suggested that she meet her potential adopter’s entire family before going home. DIAMOND (ID #A3738402) is a 7-year-old, spayed, black American Pit Bull Terrier (55 lbs.) Diamond’s journey to the shelter started out with being captured on a snare because she was scared and growly. She allowed some touch during intake. Sadly, Diamond has been STRUGGLING in a shelter environment since she arrived. She has been out only one time with staff since her arrival and was extremely scared, shaking and trembling when approached at her kennel. After several attempts, she was able to be leashed and then walked cautiously to a nearby yard where she explored but was avoidant of staff. She had to be “corralled” to pick up her leash but walked back to her kennel without issues. Diamond needs an experienced adopter/foster that understands fearful dogs and will give her time to build trust and progress at her own pace. She would be best suited for a home with older children and is required to meet the entire family. Her sociability with dogs is unknown, so she would need to kept separate initially, with SLOW introductions. PLEASE REMEMBER!! Both dogs have been living in a high-stress environment and will need time to de-stress and relax!! They will benefit from a predictable routine as well as exercise and time to play.
