HELP US BOTH LIVE!!! We will both Die (euthanasia) at County shelter on Aug. 25th!! We have done not ONE thing wrong. We were placed on the E-list because we are struggling in our kennel! We shouldn't have to die for this! And the people running the shelter WILL kill us on time....it's very sad what is occurring at MCACC!! Please read about us below. If you can save 1 of our lives, call ), OR go directly to the East Shelter (2630 W. Rio Salado Pkwy, Mesa, AZ 85201, open Mon-Friday 12-6pm and Sat-Sunday 12-5pm). KONA (ID #A4103724) is a 7-year-old, neutered, brown, Dachshund /Terrier/ Lab mix(43 lbs.). Kona was adopted 7/2018 and came back as a stray 6/2022. He is set to be euthanized because he is STRESSED and repeatedly barking and bounding at the kennel gate. This is what frustrated dogs do when desperate to get out. Although Kona can be a little shy, he is affectionate and loves pets, belly rubs and being brushed. He walks well on a leash and “sits” for treats. When previously assessed, he was social and playful with other dogs, so it is likely he could live with a dog(s), but a SLOW introduction would be needed. It is suggested that he meet the entire family before going home, and he might be best suited for a home with older children. HALLE (ID #A4752775) is a 1-year-old, spayed, black and white Boston Terrier/ Terrier mix(34 lbs.) Halle is a sweet, petite, puppy! She was surrendered because she wouldn’t be allowed where the family was moving. Her owners said she was friendly with adults and children, coexisted with another dog, and was crate trained. Halle is set to be euthanized because she is STRESSED from being kenneled and is injuring her paws and muzzle and losing weight. She is easy to leash and return to her kennel and walks nicely on-leash. Halle loves to get pets and to give “kisses”. She takes treats gently and doesn’t mind being bathed. She has lived with another dog and could do well again provided she is SLOWLY introduced. It is suggested that she meet the entire family before going home. PLEASE REMEMBER!! Both dogs have been living in a high-stress environment and will need time to de-stress and relax!! They will benefit from a predictable routine as well as exercise and time to play.
