Been playing guitar since I was 14 years old. 41 now. Professional equipment. Been in several bands over the years, mostly in the Boston area, so I have experience working creatively with others in a balanced, collaborative way. Looking to get something going local in Southern Maine area (maybe other parts of ME, NH, or MA if not too far, or meet in the middle if possible). The genres I am most experienced with and interested in playing include alternative rock, hard rock, post-rock, prog rock, metal, etc. Influences include a massive list of bands, but some examples are: Tool, Hum, Deftones, Battles, Slift, Helmet, Radiohead, A Perfect Circle, Alt-J, Truckers of Husk, Alice In Chains, Palms, Failure, Smashing Pumpkins, Melvins, Killing Joke, QotSA, Russian Circles, etc. Some common threads include heavy and/or beautiful, rhythmic, melancholic, ambient/cinematic, arty/clever, inventive, groovy, experimental yet accessable, spacey/explorative, takes you on a journey in one way or another, etc. Don’t be thrown too much by some of the more technical influences listed; not everyone is Danny Carey after all. What matters most is serving the song/music and making the whole greater than the sum of its parts. I’m very reliable and easy going. No drugs or smoking. Looking for the same qualities in bandmates. Can be a project for fun but would like to eventually record and gig at some point. Thanks for your interest!
