Found Orange male tabby

While out fishing this weekend I found a very sweet orange male tabby. I was told by others fishing there that the cat was dumped about 3 months ago. Besides being very thin and needing ears cleaning this beautiful boy is extremely friendly. My granddaughter played with him for hrs. I brought him home to get him out of the weather and hopefully find a rescue that will take him. Currently he is in a cage in my home, but I can't keep him because my dogs are not having it. Can somebody please help. I have been calling shelters all day. Because of the area he was found there seems to be confusion in placement.
