Back Yard Mechanic / Boat Mechanic and Pontoon Boat Rigger

Jobs

7803 Ashville Hwy near Woodale, Knoxville TN

Description

Wow! It's exhausting. So many stories of hiring people it's unreal! Here's what we do here and what I'm looking for. Read the ENTIRE AD PLEASE. What we do is rebuild pontoon boats. Only pontoon boats. No others and no inboards. We take the pontoon boats apart down to the pontoons and cross members and rebuild them. This consists of pressure washing, cleaning the pontoons and all aluminum. Installing new plywood, then gluing new carpet down. Then bolting seats in. Then rewiring the boat with new lights, new switches etc. Just basic skills are required to do these things and they would part of your job responsibilities. Now, what I'm looking for is someone with common sense and maturity with some mechanical knowledge. The ability to pull carburetors and take apart / clean / rebuild and reassemble. Also, be able to change impellers in outboard engines. If you have some automotive mechanical abilities or boat, then you'll be fine. Now.... along with those capabilities, you will have to realize that you will have interaction with customers on a daily basis. I am looking for folks that can give a professional impression when around customers. Preferably without "F#@! You" tattooed on their face or eye brows like the last applicant..... Again.... A professional impression. You must have a screw gun, a small socket set and a few hand tools like a hammer and tape measure. We supply big tools needed for the job. I don't expect any major mechanical work to be done other than carbs and impellers. I have an experienced mechanic for diagnostics and major repairs. So is it too much to ask for a decent guy that wants a decent job to work? I am open to retired or working part time or military or females etc. Just have some common sense and a respect for a customer related work enviroment. I pay cash. I pay every Friday. And there's plenty of work here. We don't slow down in the winter. Looking at $13 - $14Hr cash, which is about $17-18Hr on a payroll so it's decent pay. I am open to discuss other arrangements depending on experience. If you are the type that wants to text to get a job... No If you aren't willing to come by in person and want to be hired over the phone... No If you don't have a screw gun and a small set of sockets and hand tools... No You must have transportation. I will not pick you up and drop you off. You must not be addicted to your cell phone and found behind the building on your phone. You must wear a shirt. You must have a valid drivers license to tow boats. A truck is a plus. If that paints a clear picture of what I'm looking for and you feel you fit the bill. I'd love to hear from you.
