Requesting insights/advice, regarding used acrylic aquarium

I am considering shopping around for certain inexpensive, used, long aquarium, and I have noticed a few acrylic aquariums as well. So, in reference to those acrylic types, I would appreciate some insights regarding how effectively those acrylic walls get cleaned, from algae. Because I have, at times, imagined that perhaps one must be ultra careful when attempting to clean without causing visible scratches eventually. So would You, please, share your insights and your evaluations/assesments regarding the pros and cons of having selected an acrylic aquarium as well..? To me, it would seem rather convenient to move a lighter structure, and I haven't carefully compared the pricings, but I anticipate those might be..less expensive...( ? ) By the way, I am considering also getting a base for the aquarium. And I shall place it at my porch. Long aquarium. And, hopefully, it's base to be reach up high (3 - 3 1/2 ft. ) My goal is to grow/garden aquatic plants, and to learn/hobby freshwater microbiology /aquatic micro fauna. Thanks, in advance.
