MATERIAL HANDLER Description Kool Pak LLC°, the premier Northwest refrigerated LTL transportation carrier, has two immediate openings for a Material Handler at our Rancho warehouse. Function: Position is responsible for loading and unloading material and general warehouse duties. Job Duties and Responsibilities: · Load LTL temp-controlled local and long-haul delivery and shuttle routes (include knowledge of load card usage, stop order loading, temperature consideration, and weight distribution) · Receive temp-controlled freight from company trucks and outside carriers (including sorting, segregating, counting by case and by pallet, temping freight, tagging freight, and obtain overages, shortages, and damaged freight) · Case pick and palletize orders for shipping · Use of bulkheads and load locks · Utilize hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, or other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks, within the storage facility · Perform basic forklift/equipment maintenance tasks · Knowledge of commonly used practices, and procedures within a particular field and understanding the process of bill of lading and other shipping documents · Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment · Understand and follow all established policies, procedures, and safety rules · Interface professionally with other employees and the public · Perform basic warehouse cleaning and maintenance tasks · Other duties as assigned Experience, Abilities and Qualities Required: · Detailed oriented, organized, able to prioritize, and work with limited assistance/supervision once trained · Capable of ensuring efficiency and accuracy in loading and unloading · Must be able to work in a multi temperature warehouse, up to freezing temperatures · Able to continually lift 50 lbs. and stand for up to 10 hours a day · Reliable and dependable with a history of very few missed workdays · Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check · Previous shipping and receiving experience a plus, as well as experience in handling temp.-controlled freight a plus · Forklift certification a plus · Computer experience a plus (spreadsheets & data entry) Shift: Monday - Thursday 8:30 a.m. -5:50 a.m. Friday 12:00 p.m. - close Wage: $18.00 / Hr. Education/Experience Requirements: High school diploma or technical certificate and 0-3 years of work-related experience.
