Interstate near Clark Ave, Portland OR

Description

Hi. Steelab is a Portland- family-owned company with a passion for designing and building architectural cabinetry & environments, furniture, displays, signage, lighting, and more. We are a hardworking but friendly & respectful team of craftspeople. Our 25-person shop focuses on custom wood and metal projects for retail stores, restaurants, commercial interiors, high-end residential, tradeshows and more. We're looking for a driver with city and local interstate driving experience. It's a fast-paced, physical position that requires someone who has an attention to detail, is reliable, responsible, can roll with the punches, and can be pulled in a few different directions. On any given day you'll be picking up/delivering to/from 5-25 different vendors and transporting anything from one screw to a full box truck of large, heavy steel or wood objects. An ideal candidate will have the following: -Clean driving record (CDL not needed). -Experience driving vans and box trucks. -Ability to lift/move ~80lbs on a regular basis. -Attention to detail and ability to package/protect items being transported in order to eliminate damage. -Ability to work 40+ hours per week...M-F and some weekends as needed. -Willingness to help in the shop when not driving...cleaning, organizing, loading/unloading trucks, light wood shop-related stuff. The daily schedule will, for sure, vary. But _generally_ the hours will be 7a-330p. Again, the position will require over-time on occasion. Wage will be based on experience...~$20-$23/hour. Steelab offers (6) paid holidays per year and health/vision/dental/life insurance. If this all sounds like something you'd be interested in please respond to this ad and include either an attached resume or just a work history in the body of your message. Thanks for reading and please check us out at Steelab.com and on Instagram at SteelabPortland.
