Looking for a 2nd assistant to be a part of a street vendor/market block party on Saturday, August 27th in Bushwick from 3pm to 1 am (may end sooner). *MUST HAVE or obtain a valid Food Handlers or Safe Serve Certificate, no exceptions. We are a small Black-Owned, Women-Operated Catering company that does popup events throughout NYC. The events that we cater/vendors and products we sell are marketed to 21+. We are hiring a 2nd food assistant to help keep the flow of things at our next pop event. *Giving opportunities to the Black or Brown Community. Our vendor booth will be 1 of 4 food vendors selling hot foods and our house brand products. Our ideal person has at least 2-years of experience in the food/hospitality industry. Has amazing organizational skills, pays attention to detail, and has an understanding of knowing when to pivot where needed. Main Functions of the day: Having an optimistic, outgoing personality! (we're the good vibes only team) Keeping BOH organized and food stations sanitized within food safety & health code guidelines. Requires light dishwashing after the chef use utensils and bowls. Disposing of trash. Keeping the flow of restocking and setting the chef up for the next order. Keeping track of orders. First in, first out rule. Checking customers ID's before purchasing specialty items. Handoff orders to customers. Help breakdown at end of the event. REQUIRED: *Valid Food Handlers or Safe Serve Certificate, no exceptions. * Valid government-issued ID, no exceptions. *Video interviews will be conducted until filled. Do Not Apply if not willing to do a video/FaceTime call. *Must be able to stand for long periods at a time. *Must be able to squat, bend and reach. *Must be able to lift 30-45 pounds. *All hair must be pulled back and away from the face. Attire is all black, including black comfortable close toes sneakers. You will be given a company apron to wear and a hair net.
