Navigating step-family dynamics is hard. From addressing differing parenting styles, managing expectations, handling conflicts, dealing with co-parenting relationships with former spouses, and addressing the needs of the kids, there are a whole host of challenges that are unique to blended families. The goal of this class is to shed light on the unique dynamics of blended families and bring awareness to the most common challenges of step-parenting as well as offer practical strategies that can help unite blended families. During this class, Coaches Mike and Kim Anderson will share their own experiences with navigating the challenges that blended families face. They will also provide insights, tips, and strategies to walk you through how to cultivate a healthy blended family. This class will cover the following 5 essential elements of blended families: 1. Bonding 2. Understanding Kid's Perspectives 3. Marriage/Partnership 4. Parenting 5. Co-Parenting By gaining a greater understanding of the challenges step-families face, you’ll come away from this class with a more clear understanding of potential relationship challenges and gain a better perspective on how your kids may be processing changes in the family. We’ll also discuss some parenting tools to help you support kids who might be struggling with confusion, pain, anger, loss, or grief as a result of new family dynamics. You’ll come away from this class being equipped with tools, resources, and knowledge to help you better approach the unique challenges that face both parents and kids within blended families to help you manage step-family conflict, build connections, and cultivate peace within your home.
