Description
A Japanese (streaming) TV program that creates meaningful documentaries to highlight issues that traditional Japanese media won't show is hoping to find someone connected to (ideally multiple) people who are struggling with addiction in the Philadelphia area -- someone with knowledge on either the history or the current state of Kensington would be preferable, but we are open-minded.
After doing countless hours of research on the subject of opioid epidemic in the states with the continuous increase of Fentanyl being used to cut other drugs, it's clear that:
- addiction can happen to anyone
- most people who are currently overdosing had likely taken drug that was cut with Fentanyl (often unknowingly)
- it's very common to hear that everyone wants to quit, most addicts have tried multiple times
I could continue and write down different statistics on the increase of drug addiction, unintentional overdoses, etc., but that doesn't tell the real story of these people. Statistics are numbers and we believe it's important that we give faces to these numbers - to give these people a chance to tell their story. This documentary's purpose is to inform the Japanese public as well as anyone else who may watch it, to take a step back and remind themselves that all people are people and all people go through different challenges in life.
If you are an ex-drug dealer or know someone who is, we would love the opportunity to speak with you as well. I'm not opposed to speaking with an active drug dealer by any means, but I can't imagine an active drug dealer would respond to a Craigslist post. If I'm wrong, please feel free to reach out.
Although this ad is posted with "pay", we do not intend to pay any individuals - we are open to suggestions on what organizations to donate to however.
If you are interested in sharing a story on our documentary, please share a bit about yourself and how drugs / addiction has affected you or a loved one.
