New Directions is excited to host domestic violence survivor and Boxing Hall of Fame's Christy Martin as our guest speaker for this Champions for Survivors event. In the first segment of the evening, Christy will share her story and help to raise awareness about domestic violence. Her journey as an underdog is an inspiration and will empower others to overcome difficult circumstances in their lives. Her biographical documentary on Netflix, Untold: Deal with the Devil, also serves as a testament to her rise to fame and resilience. Doors for this event will open at 5:00pm, followed by dinner served at 5:30 by local barbecue Road Hog Willy's. The main event, our guest speaker Christy Martin, will begin at 6:15pm, and will be followed by world famous Howl at the Moon dueling pianos to close the evening. Prize raffles will occur throughout the event and a limited bar will be available. This event is recommended for a mature audience, age 18+.
