This workshop is an introduction to repairing and restoring wood windows. We will discuss terminology, going over parts of a window sash and window frame. We will talk about identifying problem areas, discussing options for repair and restoration. This class will also provide an introduction to the tools needed for window restoration, as well as proper materials to use.
About the teacher:
Holly Dorning (she/her) has a background in historic preservation and restoration, with a degree from a trade school specializing in the historic trades. She is currently a site superintendent with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati, working on rehabbing historic homes from the late 1800s. Holly loves historic houses and believes that taking the time to learn how to care for your home is integral in building strong people and communities.

All Do It Yourself Darlin Workshops are donation-based, geared towards beginners, and open to anyone age 16+. Participants are encouraged to donate as their financial capacity allows. DIYD is a program of the non-profit CDC Price Hill Will and all of DIYD’s funding comes from donations and grants.
