i have some dead outlets that need troubleshot

i am working on a duplex and it has some dead outlets and a light pole that don't seem to have power to them I need someone to help me troubleshoot them I think they have to do with one or more GFCI outlets that have failed since they are in garage, on porch or on the front yard light. I don't see this as electrician work but it is electrical. I know a GFCI circuit can string all through a house from bathroom to garage to porch and it would be nice to know where these go in the future. Call me if you can help me trace down repair and map out the circuits.
