The International Engagement Workshop is offered for anyone at DTS (students, staff, faculty, board, family, friends) to equip and encourage our local community of global disciples toward intercultural unity. Intercultural Unity is the supernatural, interdependent relationship between believers of different cultures made possible only through the reconciling work of Christ on the cross. We will understand more of how this looks from our different cultural perspectives of honor/shame, innocence/guilt, and power/fear.
Some of the areas we will cover are:
What are the honor-shame, innocence-guilt, and power-fear paradigms and how do they compare with one another? What are the negative perceptions that people from these different orientations have of each other? How can we begin to think about and apply these insights in our different ministry contexts of varying cultures? If you are a current student, staff, faculty, board, family, or friend of DTS, please email us at [email protected] (with your student ID#, if applicable) for a special discount code.
We will meet in Lamb Auditorium of the Campbell Academic Center. Lunch, snacks, and beverages will be provided.
