Contestants Invited to Bring the Heat at 10th Annual SCV Charity Chili Cook-off. The 10th Annual SCV Charity Chili Cook-off is expected to come with some severe heat … hot, chili-pepper heat. The Annual Charity Event is scheduled for Friday, October 28th, 2022. This year’s recipients will be The Baker Family Foundation. Founded in 2021 by Blake Baker and Kristen Baker, The Baker Family Foundation (BFF) strives to make a positive impact on our community by creating a bridge between those in need and the resources needed for positive change. The Foundation is currently completing a strategic planning process to start a youth entrepreneur program in 2023. Fix'N Fidos was created by KTLA’s Kacey Montoya to help put a dent in the pet population in Southern California by paying for spay & neuter surgeries for low-income pet owners. During the pandemic we also started buying pet food for pet owners out of work, and helping with unexpected vet bills....all to keep pets out of shelters! "This fun event has become increasingly popular each year, making a difference for the organizations it has supported over the years," said event Co-Chair Steve Portaro. Along with Co-founder Nicole Stinson, he expects this year's event to sell out. Nicole said, "The SCV Charity Chili Cook-off is a great event to meet up after work with your co-workers and friends, AND FAMILY, taste some spectacular chili, enjoy a cocktail, dance, bid on silent auction items, and most importantly, raise some money for charity." We are super excited to announce that this year's event will be held at the New MB2 Entertainment located at 21516 Golden Triangle Rd, Santa Clarita, CA 91350. MB2 Entertainment has graciously stepped up to be our title sponsor this year, and we couldn't be more excited!! This year's event will bring a ton of new elements of fun! Starting with 40 amateur chefs and community members competing for this year's BEST Chili Trophy! Attendees will get to taste 40 chilis, listen to a live band and DJ, Dance, bid on live and silent auction items, in addition, will be able to buy tickets for Bowling, VR Headset Games, Arcade, Laser Tag, Axe Throwing, Golf Simulator, Mini Golf, and Go-Karts. The fee to enter the chili contest is $125. Prizes will be awarded to the BEST 3 Chilis. People's Choice and Judges Choice categories and BEST DECORATED BOOTH.
