Pursuing Victory with Honor: Defeating the Odds with Chris Norton

Chris Norton's life changed suddenly when he was paralyzed during a football game. In the years since his injury, Chris has worked diligently to overcome the obstacles in his new life. His story inspires us to draw on our strength of character and face adversity with drive, determination, and grace. As part of our Pursuing Victory With Honor® series, Iowa middle and high school students are invited to a free presentation of Chris' movie, 7 Yards, hear from Chris directly about his experiences, and ask him questions. All participating schools will receive a free copy of our 7 Yards curricular resources to extend students’ learning beyond the film. The materials cover topics like goal achievement, growth mindset, communications strategies, and overcoming adversity. The student handouts includes Optimal Performance Assessments to help students reflect on how well they demonstrate character skills and what they could do differently in the future. Grant funding for this event and 7 Yards curricular resources are provided by Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino.
