Going "green" sounds like a cool idea, but not like this

You know the line: "Battery-powered vehicles are better for the environment than gasoline vehicles" Until you consider the fact that batteries do not make energy, they only store it, and batteries are currently being charged by using fossil fuel. If the people who drive electric cars want to honestly say they are "emissions free", they should ONLY be allowed to charge their vehicles with solar, hydro or wind power. To truly be 'emissions free', NO fossil fuels should be involved in the charging of their batteries. Batteries are produced using a lot of lithium. Have you seen a lithium mine lately? How does that look for the environment? Do you think lithium mines are better for the environment, plant and animal life than a pipeline? "Pipelines are damaging the environment and ecosystem" Again: Have you seen a lithium mine lately? Solar panels have a life span of about 20 to 25 years, before they are junk. We have no idea what to do with solar panels, which contain a lot of toxic metals and chemicals, so we simply bury them in the ground. Nice. Windmills seem like a great idea, except for the fact that they present a problem similar to the solar panel problem: What to do with old windmill blades after they wear out, or are damaged? There is currently a "windmill blade graveyard" in Wyoming. Again, like solar panels, they bury the blades, because they have no idea what else to do with them. This reminds me of an ostrich that buries its head in the sand, when they're trying to escape reality. I'm all for going 'green' as much as possible, but a lot of the 'solutions' for replacing fossil fuel seem much worse than the original 'problem'. Besides, the biggest LIE of all: We don't have 'too much' CO2 in the atmosphere. As a matter of fact, we're running dangerously low. Too little CO2 in the atmosphere is far more dangerous than having too much. Our current CO2 level is below 400 ppm. We can do quite nicely even up to 2,500 ppm with no problem. Here's the big problem: If CO2 levels get down to 150 ppm, plants DIE. Then we have BIG problems. But, if you're still worried about CO2, all I have to say is, we cannot go it alone. America's carbon emissions are about the same as they were in 1990. NO OTHER COUNTRY can say that. We're doing our part. We cannot be the only country to save the planet.
