The demand for our services has increased over the years and in order to keep up, we need your help. This year we are hosting the CMRS Scavenger Hunt & Picnic to raise funds to better serve the community and bring awareness to restorative practices. Aug. 31st) Prizes include: MN United Tickets, Vikings game tickets, various gift cards to local restaurants, coffee shops, movie passes, and more! Community Mediation & Restorative Services, Inc. (CMRS) has been part of the West-Metro community since 1983. At CMRS, our mission is "To develop the capacity of the community to respectfully resolve conflict and repair harm". We live our mission through our work in three areas: navigating housing resources, local schools, and community and court mediations. Our team of staff and volunteers help you move from conflict to resolution and from harm to healing. We partner with local government, school districts, and community organizations to work with the community in to address conflict and host challenging conversations. Housing: Our focus includes mediation services in Hennepin County housing court, fostering discussions between property owners/management and renters, and collaborating with Project HOPE to help people navigate housing resources.Schools: We serve in three districts: Osseo, Robbinsdale and Hopkins, covering the NW metro area. We utilize restorative practices to promote alternatives to school suspension policies and promote a holistic, equitable approach to school conflict. We work alongside teachers in promoting health classroom community building through Circles and various restorative conversations. In addition, we do restorative conferencing with Hennepin Juvenile Court diversion cases.Community Mediations: We help community resolve disputes such as neighbor to neighbor disagreements, family matters, and referrals from Hennepin County Harassment court.General Schedule of Event: 9am - Check-In 9:45 am - Keynote Speaker 10:30 am - Scavenger Hunt Begins! 11:30 - Wrap up Scavenger Hunt and enjoy a picnic lunch 12:45 - Scavenger Hunt Prizes Announced and concluding remarks
