NOTE:: New location Contra dance hosted by Historic Jonesborough Dance Society Contra Dance August 27, 2022 Beginner lesson 7:00 pm Dance 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm Tickets : $10.00 single, $5.00 student, $25 family Dress comfortably and bring a water bottle. Contra dancing is social interaction, meeting people, n and making new friends, set to music. The rest is just details. No partner is needed as it is tradition to change partners for each dance. Contra dances are family friendly, alcohol, tobacco, and fragrance free events. Contra dance is an energetic form of dance for all ages. Contra dance is similar to square dance but is done in long lines rather than four couple squares. A beginners lesson is held prior to each dance where the basic moves are taught.
