Blues Drummer Wanted
Meets
Largo FL
Description
This is a Bluesman (with a bass player) seeking a drummer with real love for the Blues as well as someone well versed in the genre. That means original electric blues like BB King, Muddy Waters, and John Lee Hooker, and blues rock like Hendrix, Cream and Stevie Ray Vaughan. My own delivery tends to lean toward the contemporary high-energy style like Eric Gales, Joe Bonamassa, and Kingfish. I have been doing it longer than any of them. This is for the love the Blues. This is also for the love of getting up on a big stage with great production, for a large audience that is already there to see more legendary artists. This means we only do concerts: opening for bigger acts or as part of a festival line up. No 4 sets in a bar till 1 AM. This is playing at the top of your game for 45-60 minutes. While we generally make more money per set than you ever will in a bar, money is not the prime motivation. If a gig goes bust, I will always pay my musicians expenses. We will always merchandise to pickup any slack from the gate. I am open to any and all, of any age, with the love for the Blues, but ideally it would be the best fit for the "retired" musician who wants to get out there a few times a year in a no drama situation with a no fuss gig. That is the status of the bass player. I myself am quite active in another genre. This is an outlet for me. Finally, there is a list and it is doubtful anything will be added unless you can sing it. Rehearsals will be limited. One or two to go over a few originals and some original arrangements of classic blues. One rehearsal of the complete show before the first gig. After that, rehearsals will only be called if the current show list requires changes. That would happen, for instance, if the gig required all traditional blues. Or if everyone just wants a change. I don't think it could be easier than this! PS. If we are asked to be a sole concert act for an event, I have a 6000 Watt PA with EAW, JBL, and Soundcraft gear. I have Strats, a Les Paul, and a V, all pumped through a Marshall tube amp.
