The Ithaca Farmers Market is looking for a part time seasonal buildings and grounds facilities coordinator to help manage the Steamboat Landing property located at 545 Third Street in Ithaca, NY. This person should be a self-motivated, experienced gardener/landscaper with experience in plumbing and electrical problem solving. Some skills in carpentry are also a plus.The ability to operate the market tractor is also a requirement. Some weekend hours are required. All tools will be provided or rented by the Farmers market. Reports to: Operations Manager and Building & Grounds Committee Time Commitment: 5-15 hours/week April & Nov-Dec; 20-30 hours/week May-October; Possible minimal hours available Jan-March Pay Rate: $20-$25/hour, depending on experience Tasks include, but may not be limited to: Mowing and weed trimming; Pruning; Weeding; Planting; Driveway grading; Gutter repair and cleaning; Assisting vendors with booth repair as requested; Grounds cleaning before/after weddings; Regular building maintenance tasks; and Attending monthly buildings and grounds meetings to collaborate with committee members and complete larger projects Desired Skills/Characteristics: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work independently and as a team member Ability to lift 50+ pounds Ability to work outside in various weather conditions Experience in landscaping, plumbing, carpentry and/or electrical work Ability to drive and operate a tractor Valid NY Drivers License Strong time management skills Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required
