DETROIT — The historic Belle Isle slide reopens Friday after workers made a few adjustments to stop riders from bouncing all the way down, Belle Isle Park officials said.
DNR Officials said they have scrubbed down the slide's surface and sprayed a little water on the slide between rides to help control the speed.
"It seems to be working well so please come out and give it a try," officials said in a Facebook post.
The slide is expected to be open for the next two weekends on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It's $1 a ride and you must be 48" or taller to ride.
"Please follow the operator's instructions when riding, remember to lean forward," officials said.
After reopening Friday for the first time in more than two years, the giant slide was force to close back down after riders bounced and screamed all the way down. The slide was shutdown for more than two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
