Great hunting cat needs a barn

Hi, this is a long post about cat placement, so skip if you are not interested. I put off posting here for a long time because I know it can be controversial, and I am not up for a whole bunch of negative feedback as this is already hard for our family. We adopted our cat Oscar about six years ago from the Humane Society. He was an older kitten, but had been outside as well as inside. We tried very hard to keep him inside, but as the years went on he snuck out more and more to the point we could not keep him inside anymore. When we try to keep him inside, he pees on the carpet, scratches the screens, meows incessantly, etc. Over the years we have tried extra litter boxes, pheromones, CBD, special calming collars, pretty much anything we could think of. Unfortunately he has been harassing inside neighbor cats through the window, and is an excellent hunter. He kills the baby ducklings and bunnies and some of our neighbors are very unhappy. I have tried many times in the last couple of months to get a hold of the Carver Scott humane society (as our contracts indicates) but they are overloaded and do not call or email me back. I also talked to the Golden Valley location, but they have determined that he is not able to be regimes, and they would euthanize him if we bring him there. I have also tried using social media to look for a home and cannot find one. We need to find Oscar an inside/outside home where he can roam and hunt. He is very affectionate and lives with kids and two dogs currently. He does not get along well with other cats, and would be best as an only cat. If you know of anyone with a hobby farm who needs a mouser or anyone who lives farther away from the city we would love to make a connection. He is used to sleeping inside on our kids’ beds and coming in every night for dinner. As long as he can go out everyday, he uses the litter box when inside. We are sad, open to ideas, and hope to find a way to give him a happy life even if it can’t be with us. 💔
