Looking for someone with the words and voice that showcase character. I'm partial to soulful to punk-poetic to indie-Americana (Nina Simone, Karen Dalton, Gillian Welch, Beth Gibbons, Terry Hall, Patti Smith, Gram Parsons, Chrissie Hynde, Nick Cave), leaning towards a female. I think what Jessie Buckley and Bernard Butler are doing currently is great. Check out “The Eagle and the Dove”. Songwriting is my aim, not battling to be heard over beer drinkers, etc. In reflection, I would say may playing is intentionally melodic and with a relatively soft, nuanced touch. I'm really in-line with those type of players (Nick Drake, Johnny Marr, Joni Mitchell, Jose Gonzales, Bernard Butler, Milk Carton Kids).
