Reconditioning Technician - Toyota Chula VistaJob Summary:Toyota Chula Vista has an immediate opening for a Used Car Reconditioning Technician. Dealership experience preferred, but not required. This is an excellent opportunity if you have independent shop experience because you will be working on various models to support our used car department. Responsibilities:-Conferring with customers or service advisors to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems, and to discuss work to be performed and future repair requirements.-Examining vehicles to determine wear and extent of damage or malfunctions.-Assisting the shop foreman/lead technician as well as assisting technicians with their skills, providing technical support when needed and monitoring performance and productivity.-Testing and adjusting repaired systems to meet manufacturers' performance specifications.-Ensuring that the shop is in excellent condition with regard to cleanliness, safety, and equipment condition, and conducting periodic spot checks to maintain high-quality service.-Test-driving vehicles, and testing components and systems, using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges and computerized diagnostic devices. Qualifications:- Must have prior experience with Toyota as a technician. Level 1-3 is highly preferred.- Dealership experience is required as is experience working with Toyota.- A minimum of 3 years’ experience is required.- Level 1-3 experience is highly preferred.- Smog license is helpful but not required.- The successful completion of an automotive training program in a National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF)-certified high school or community college as the best preparation for service technicians.
