We are a drummer and bass player looking for a third member for jamming leading to writing with eventual goals of recording and playing out. We met through a guitar player that wanted to start a post-rock band. He bowed out, but we still like post-rock, post-metal, some thrash and sludge, and some shoegaze type of stuff. In other words, we'd like to be VERY dynamic, write songs that go wherever they need to in order to convey the right emotions, while understanding that both soundscapes and complex harmony can create an emotive atmosphere. I'm generally playing 8-string bass (like a 4-string, but with octaves) through effects to help generate a lot of sound. I have history in many types of music from jazz to death metal, and things beyond. He has experience playing thrash and does a great job of both following and leading jams from loud to soft, slow to fast, as they evolve. If any of this sounds exciting, please write back. We're not looking to quit our day jobs. We generally jam on Thursdays at his house. I'm 44, he's 46, if that matters to you.
