Liz Cheney (R-WY) for ‘grifting,’ saying that she’s “auditioning for the role” of a fake conservative on CNN. The outgoing Wyoming congresswoman — who experienced a devastating defeat in her primary election to pro-Trump conservative candidate Harriet Hageman, losing by a 38% margin — hinted at a potential 2024 presidential campaign following her primary loss. Cheney said that she is not done with her crusade to keep former President Donald Trump out of the White House — but if she runs for president, she is just going to “peel” off votes from President Joe Biden, Trump Jr. asserted. “A 40-point drubbing doesn’t make you Abraham Lincoln; it certainly doesn’t make you Ulysses S. Grant, either,” he said, referring to Cheney’s concession speech in which she blamed Trump for her primary loss and compared herself to former Republican Party founders. “I think that’s the problem with people like Liz Cheney,” Trump Jr. continued. “They hear what CNN wants them to believe is a conservative. They don’t listen to their constituency. They certainly don’t listen to the people of the state of Wyoming, which I believe is perhaps the most conservative state in the union. And they believe that that means there is a very presidential contender.”
