Summary Under direct supervision, performs manual duties related to the shipment and receipt of component parts and finished goods. Responsible for verifying and maintaining records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Essential Functions • Maintains stock records, logs, reports and other documentation. Records goods received; rejects damaged, excess or misdirected goods. • Reviews orders for correct part’s number and description to ensure that the correct product and/or part is ordered. Identifies order discrepancies and corrects discrepancies in a timely manner. • Loads and ships customer orders. Maintains an inventory of cartons, tapes, crates, clamps, foam and other packing material. • Verifies and appropriately packages all parts accordingly to product specification to prevent damage and/or customers from receiving a defective item. • Provides excellent customer service via telephone and in-person. Responds to phone calls/emails requesting parts information in a timely manner. • Reviews and troubleshoots customer problems and initiates standard corrective action procedures. • Notifies management when inventory of specific items are low or when orders will deplete available inventory. Ensures that an adequate stock of parts are available to meet customer needs. • Keeps parts and stock area neat, organized, and clean. Key Competencies and Skills • Knowledge of UPS, FedEx, and similar companies shipping • Good computer and organizational skills • Team player, willingness to help other as well as accepts help from others • Ability to carry out repetitive tasks quickly and methodically • Ability to follow safety policies and procedures • Ability to read and understand written work instructions • Friendly, outgoing personality, and great communication skills Education & Experience High school diploma or GED and three years of shipping and receiving experience is required. Ability to operate materials handling equipment including fork lifts, pallet handler and, hand trucks. Prior customer service experience is strongly desired. Physical Requirements • Work is primarily sedentary in nature. • Significant interaction with team, some customers and vendors • Occasional manual labor that includes lifting, bending and reaching • Ability to read, write, listen and speak Work Environment • Typically work is in an office environment where the noise level is low to moderate.
