Position: Driver (Full or Part-Time) Weekly Hours: 24-40 hrs (3-5 days, 8-hour shifts) Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm shifts Start: ASAP Pay: $18.50 an hour starting rate (W2 employee) The Happy Beetle provides subscription door-to-door pick-ups of “hard to recycle” items that accumulate in our homes. These items can’t be placed in municipal recycling bins, but also don’t belong in trash bins. We collect these items from our subscribers, sort them in our warehouse, and then drop them off with various sustainability partners throughout Denver and Boulder. Our van drivers are responsible for driving daily routes throughout the Denver area and picking up collection bags from members’ porches. They are also responsible for dropping off collected materials at different facilities around town. Responsibilities may also include unloading and sorting materials in warehouse, prepping collection bags for distribution, and assisting with warehouse duties as needed. This person should have the following characteristics: Clean driving record (3 years at least) Must be 18 years or older Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds safely and be comfortable being physically active Comfortable using smartphones and routing apps Ability to communicate effectively in English Enjoys driving and being on the road a good part of the day Self-starter, responsible, and requiring little oversight COVID vaccinations highly encouraged Vacation and sick leave pay for all employees. Holiday pay dependent on full-time or part-time employment status. Our current warehouse is conveniently located just east of the Stanley Marketplace in NW Aurora/Central Park neighborhoods.
